Past Performance: Michel was a Media relations specialist and spokesperson at Bell Atlantic (now Verizon); a staff consultant & trainer at Bell Atlantic; a co-founder of Zanzibar on the Waterfront; a founder and consultant at Zanzibar Management Group;  and a guest lecturer at Howard Univ., Georgetown Univ.; His awards include several prestigious IABC Awards of Excellence for feature writing and communications plans, and a MLK Achievement Award for his business acumen.  He was a member of the CareFirst BlueCross BlueShied Board of Directors and has served as a keynote speaker at several PR events and conferences.

Past Performance: Tony served as a trustee of the Federal City Council of DC, as Co- Chairman of DC Innovates and Chairman of  DC Crowdfunding. He is a member of the Leadership Greater Washington Class of 2007.  He also served in leadership roles at American Express Corp., BDO, Navigant Consulting and Newport Board Group. He is a trusted CEO and Board Advisor with a track record of helping organizations achieve their strategic, operating and financial goals. As an entrepreneur he has led the development of innovative services and products and has access to decision makers in the public, private, non-profit and NGO sectors.

Curtis Symonds

Past Performance: Curtis is a well-known innovative and respected cable TV  and marketing pioneer, who served as the Executive VP of Affiliate Sales and Marketing for BET Holdings.  During his tenure at BET, he also served as Executive VP of BET Jazz, President and CEO of BET Action Pay Per View, and President and COO of BET International.  As an entrepreneuer, he built the Hoop Magic basketball sports complex and co-founded the HBCUX Sports Network to provide quality sports programming to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).  Curtis was named one of the 100 most influential people in the cable industry by Cable Fax Magazine.

Dawn Ridley

Past Performance: Dawn's expertise includes developing and implementing marketing and brand strategies.  She previously served as VP of Business Development for D.C. United, the most successful team in Major League Soccer history.  She also served as Director, Corporate Partnerships for National Geographic Society where she led the development of internal and external partnerships and long-term corporate strategy for Mission Programs.  Additionally, she previously  served as the Senior VP for NFL PLAYERS (formerly PLAYERS INC), the marketing and licensing subsidiary of the NFL Players Association.  Dawn was instrumental in the growth of NFL PLAYERS, a company that now generates more than $100 million annually.  Earlier, she held sales and marketing positions with the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) and the Atlanta Braves baseball club. 


Derrik Henry

Past Performance: Derrik has over 30 years printing, sales & marketing experience.  He was the co-owner and business development officer at Brentworks, Inc., providing printing and graphic design services to DC government agencies; His former clients include BET, Alcohol Beverage Regulation Admin. (ABRA), and various DC Government agencies.

Clint Evans
Project Manager

Past Performance: Clint has more than 25 years in the marketing, media and entertainment industry experience. He is the co-founder and general manager of a digital television platform dedicated to providing quality sports, entertainment and educational programming to the 105 Historically Black Colleges and Universities.  Clint founded The Clinton Group that provided brand marketing solutions, content development, public relations and event management that delivered culturally relevant events for Fortune 500 companies.  He served in multiple leadership roles at BET, including VP of Affiliate Marketing,  director of partnership marketing,  and director of consumer marketing for BET Movies.


Nicole Hawkins
PR and Project Manager

Past Performance: Nicole provides strategic marketing and communications, social media strategy, project management, media relations, and event planning services. At the age of 27, she  was named Public Relations Director for the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Washington Wizards, becoming the first African American woman to be named PR Director for an NBA franchise.  While with the Wizards, Nicole worked closely with
players, coaches, staff and members of the media. She was responsible for all aspects of running the department which included pitching and facilitating media interviews, traveling with the team to ensure all media relations requirements were met and ensuring that game night media operations ran efficiently.


Gloria Parker
Trainer/Executive Coach

Past Performance: Gloria served on the Obama-Biden transition team; She is a former IBM executive; worked on the technology team for US Dept. of Education; was the HUD Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer; Corp. Her leadership awards include the Presidential Medal and the IBM Golden Circle and 2000 Presidential Rank Award.  Gloria has Board of Director experience and is a frequent keynote speaker.
